The Colver Power Project has rebuilt the old Vetera Dam
Water for the Colver Power Plant is supplied by a reservoir which is owned and operated by the Cambria Township Water Authority (CTWA). The reservoir, located approximately three miles from the Colver Power Facility, served as the main water supply for the residents in the area since 1913. However, the old structure was constantly leaking and could not meet the growing residential needs of the region.
Inter-Power / AhlCon Partners, L.P. constructed a new dam as part of the Colver Power Project, replacing the existing earthen embankment. The project assumed responsibility to manage construction and to pay off the bond debt for the dam project in exchange for a water supply for the life of the Colver Plant.

Completed in November, 1993, the new dam has now a capacity of 427 million gallons of water. It is 51 feet high, and 1,021 feet long. The impoundment area is 73 acres. The CTWA has agreed to allow the Pennsylvania Fish Commission to stock the reservoir and allow access for public fishing.
Today, the residents of Cambria County and the vicinity use the large reservoir not only as their main water supply but also for recreation such as fishing and near-by camping.
